The Space
The higgihaus@cheltenhamlane is a pair of beautifully appointed, stylish, and brand spanking new contemporary 3-storey townhouses located in hidden no-through lane in Stokes Croft, the city’s most ‘hip and happening’ neighbourhood! The location is truly awesome with a good slug of Bristol’s best restaurants, bars, pubs & coffee-shops right on the doorstep.
On weekends the property is let to large groups, but in the week we make up eight amazing rooms available Monday to Friday to accommodate the business guest or contractor visiting our awesome city for work.
There is a large kitchen/diner on the ground floor that contains everything you need to release your inner Gordon Ramsey or, if you prefer, pop a ready-meal in the microwave (there’s a Sainsbury’s Local and a Tesco’s Local a short walk from the house !). The kitchen/diner opens onto a small, but perfectly formed private rear courtyard that contains a table and bench seating. Guests also have access to a stylish and well-equipped sitting room. on the first floor The sitting room, kitchen and courtyard are shared with other guests – be social or not, it’s entirely up to you.
In your private bedroom, you’ll find a comfortable pillow-top mattress, crisp cotton linens and duvets and pillows that are as soft as a bag of kittens. Each guest bedroom comes equipped with a digital keyless entry system, a 43 inch internet-connected smart TV, a laptop-friendly desk, USB charging points placed immediately adjacent to the bed and a hairdryer. An iron and ironing board can be found in the kitchen. Each townhouse has three bathrooms (one on each floor) which means six bathrooms in total shared by the occupants of the eight bedrooms. We’ve even included eco-friendly shampoo and body wash.
Access
The front door to the building has a keyless entry system and you will be given the entry code 24 hours prior to check-in.
Interaction
The higgihaus@cheltenhamlane are self-contained houses for the exclusive use of guests staying in our awesome city. There is no need for you to interact with us but should you need anything we’d be delighted to help. #teamhiggi are a friendly bunch who love Bristol and it is worth noting that Luke (who was born in Bristol) knows it like the back of his hand (well the best bits anyway) and he and Delyth eat out a lot. Luke is thus a veritable goldmine of places to see, things to do, restaurants to eat at, bars worth a visit and how to get about. We’ll provide contact numbers ahead of check-in (feel free to call and say hi).
The Neighborhood
The higgihaus@cheltenhamlane sits in a hidden no-through lane and is a mere stone’s throw from the Cheltenham and Gloucester Roads. Both are chock full of shops, restaurants, bars, coffee shops, pubs, supermarkets and all the transport options you’ll likely need when staying in our awesome city (including the train at Montpelier). Stokes Croft (famed for its street-art) is a hop, skip and a jump away in one direction and the independent traders on the Gloucester Road (known locally as Bristol’s Indie Shopping District) a couple of minutes in the other.
Transport
Transport options are numerous and include buses, taxis and the Montpelier train station just a short walk away. Buses are frequent and the Centre is only a few stops away. The train will get you access to Whiteladies Road by way of Montpelier Station (Clifton Down is two stops away). If you’re feeling a little more adventurous, and fancy a trip to Bath, then the train from Montpelier goes direct to Bristol Temple Meads (the city’s mainline station).
Parking
The higgihaus@cheltenhamlane is right in the heart of the city and has no dedicated parking ot its own. However, if you are coming by car or van then there’s space outside to drop your luggage before locating a parking space on one of the residential streets off the Cheltenham and Gloucester Roads. On-street parking is generally free on the weekends (watch out for those streets that are designated pay-to-park). Between the hours of 9.00am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday requires a parking permit. A good option is www.justpark.com that has several nearby resident’s driveways that can be rented by the day. The nearest NCP car park is Bristol St James Barton (https://www.ncp.co.uk/find-a-car-park/car-parks/bristol-st-james-barton/) which is about 5 minute-drive away and provides secure and overnight parking at a reasonable cost and can be booked in advance.
